While playing in the FTBL, Kenny Shih of BODL was surprised how determined his colleagues and teammates could be on the court. “Some are way more aggressive than I ever anticipated, this part is cool!”, - says Kenny.
Kenny is a solid scoring center of BODL and a Head of Business Development in APAC for CoinFlex, the world’s first physically delivered cryptocurrency futures exchange.
Kenny started playing basketball since he was a kid and later in college. “I use to play basketball almost every day”, - recalls Kenny. Before joining FTBL, he played in different local leagues in Hong Kong, including Dream League and AICBL.
Last season BODL lost to FactSet in the final game. This time they are looking to win the FTBL championship and claim what they think is theirs.
Being a very competitive and passionate player himself, he jokes: “If myself at the peak, I’d destroy these guys”.
Couple of the games BODL were down entire match and managed to come back to win in the last quarter, recalls Kenny. “Particularly fun, when you grind out a win!”, - he says.
“The FinTech focus is quite great for networking, especially since the crypto community is very small,'' - thinks Kenny.
He also appreciates the co-ed element, that “allows more teamwork focus and selflessness”. Kenny hopes to see more crypto people joining FTBL in the future. Kenny and BODL is determined to win the championship. Will we see them succeed?
